SUMMER PIERRE RETURNS TO NEW ENGLAND WITH NEW
ALBUM
Santa Cruz, CA singer-songwriter Summer Pierre is
set to release her long anticipated debut CD September 1, 2004,
on Boston independent label That Promising Seadog Media. To promote
the album's release, Summer will be playing Club Passim's twice-annual
jam-packed Cutting Edge of the Campfire Festival, this Labor Day
weekend. She will be performing Sunday, September 5, at noon,
and will be joined in the round by Noah Zacharin, Liz Carlisle
and Greg Alexander.
Produced by award-winning folk musician Rob Laurens,with
help from engineer Tom Eaton, Summer Pierre's Far From Here
is a fully realized rock album. Recorded at Eaton's Newburyport,
MA studio, the CD features several New England musicians, including
Jon Nolan and Jon Pistey (formerly of Say Zuzu), producer Laurens,
and comedic folk phenom Faith Soloway.
Summer's appearance at this September's Campfire
festival will be her first Boston-area performance in over a year.Before
returning to her home state of California two years ago, Summer
played frequently at local folk and rock venues like Club Passim
and Toad, earning praise from audience and fellow musicians alike.
She has opened for musicians such as Lori McKenna and Mary Lou
Lord.
The Cutting Edge of the Campfire festival will take
place Friday-Monday, September 3-6, 2004, at Club Passim, located
at 47 Palmer St., in Harvard Square, Cambridge, MA. Tickets are
$13 per day or $21 for a weekend pass. Summer Pierre will be performing
Sunday, September 5,
from noon to 1:25pm. Her CD Far From Here will be for sale
at the festival all weekend long. It
